Stefanie Lewin is a Brooklyn-based educator and artist focused on social justice and equitable access in arts education.
She is the Education Manager at ESS Community Projects @ Eckford Street Studio, a non-profit community art space in Greenpoint, and leads classes and workshops for children, adults, and families at a variety of institutions and organizations. She has taught at the Whitney Museum, MoMA PS1, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Brainery, Creative Art Works, Felicity House, City Art Lab, and Free Arts NYC. She holds an MA in Art Education from the City College of New York and a BA in Art/Art History and Psychology from the College of William & Mary.
When she is not teaching or making, Stefanie enjoys running, spending time in nature, going to museums, and taking photos of her cat, Captain Augustus (Gus) McCrae. She used to play drums in a feminist punk band and if she were not an art teacher she would be a cowgirl.
